About

The Amedeo Studio is an advanced video player designed for learning Chinese through real TV content. You can loop subtitles, organize them into up to three categories, and mark vocabulary for later study.

You can then navigate the video by category or by marked words to review the corresponding subtitles.

Instructions

1 Subtitle navigation

  • Use the right-side buttons of the Amedeo Studio to navigate subtitles.
  • Loop / Cont. switches between repeating one subtitle (Loop) or playing continuously (Continuous).
  • Next / Prev moves through subtitles.
  • In Loop mode, tap ORG to alternate between the original audio and the text-to-speech (TTS) version for clear reference pronunciation.
  • Open the menu to set the pause between repeats (0–5 seconds).
  • Use the left-side speed slider to adjust speech speed from 1.0 down to 0.3.
  • Floating subtitles: drag the subtitle area to reposition.
  • Resize subtitles: desktop — use the mouse wheel over the subtitle area; mobile/tablet — pinch with two fingers (spread to enlarge, squeeze to reduce).

2 Word column (middle)

  • Tap a word card to hear it pronounced.
  • Long-press a card to mark it for review.
  • Switch from All to Marked at the top to show only your marked words.
  • When viewing Marked, tapping a word jumps to the subtitle where it appeared.
  • If a word appears multiple times, repeated taps cycle through all matching subtitles.
  • Long-press again to unmark a word.

3 Subtitle list & categories (left)

  • The first column lists every subtitle in the episode. Tap one to hear the full sentence.
  • Use the three numbers to tag subtitles into categories (you can select one, two, or all three):
  • 1 — sentences to memorize
  • 2 — sentences that are interesting or useful
  • 3 — sentences containing new or unknown words
  • After tagging, choose 1, 2, or 3 using the buttons below the series/episode menu.
  • In Loop mode, Next/Prev will now navigate only within the selected category.

4 Settings

  • Open ⚙️ to adjust font sizes for subtitles and word cards.
  • Set the pause between loop repeats.
  • Toggle night/day mode.
  • Save and restore your learning data (marked words and subtitle categories per episode).

Tip

Your annotations, including marked words and categories, are stored locally in your browser's memory. You can safely close and reopen the app without losing data. Save your data regularly. Note that when you use Amedeo Studio on another device, you'd first need to save the data on the previous device and restore it on the second.
